The Natural Resource Conservation Service, with a field office in Ukiah, provides support for residents interested in a variety of conservation, environmental quality enhancement practices and much more. NRCS administers the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE)

University of California Cooperative extension, with a field office in Ukiah, provides extension services for residents in Mendocino, Lake, and Sonoma counties.

UCCE Forest Stewardship Series

University of California Cooperative Extension offers significant resource to forest landowners regarding forest management and stewardship. Available for download, their 25-part forest stewardship series provides comprehensive information on forest ecology, the history of forest management, and much more. A video series addressing the importance of creating a forest stewardship plan is also available.
