Katie graduated from UC Davis in 2020 with her degree in Environmental Science and Management with an emphasis in Ecology, Conservation & Biodiversity. While in school, she developed a passion for field work and research, conducting stream surveys throughout California while investigating the California Environmental Flows Framework. Since then, she gained experience engaging stakeholders, restoring wetland & riparian communities, and promoting environmental education in the Carson River Watershed and while working with California State Parks in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Having grown up exploring California’s forests and finding a passion for permaculture while working in her high school’s garden in Oakland, CA, she is excited to continue her work with sustainable agriculture and watershed health in Mendocino County. Katie served as a GrizzlyCorps Rural Climate Fellow with MCRCD and the Mendocino County Fire Safe Council beginning in September 2021 before joining the MCRCD team full-time in August 2022 as the Soil and Water Project Coordinator.
