Mary is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) and the Forest Program Manager for MCRCD where she provides technical and planning assistance to landowners, residents, and land managers, and develops and implements vegetation management projects throughout the County. After graduating UC Berkeley with a double major in forestry and restoration ecology, she spent five years with the US Forest Service on the Plumas and Tahoe National Forests planning and implementing forest health and hazardous fuels reduction projects, including aspen and black oak enhancement treatments. Since joining the RCD in January 2016, she has provided the forestry technical assistance for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for their Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and worked closely with landowners to develop Forest Management Plans throughout Mendocino County. Mary provides landowner assistance and develops prescription for forest health practices including, but not limited to, forest stand improvement, fuel reduction, habitat enhancement, woody residue treatment following catastrophic events, and reforestation.
