2017 Ukiah Valley Russian River Cleanup

September 16th 9am-1pm

Come join your neighbors on September 16 to clean the Upper Russian River and creeks and protect the health of our watershed! The Mendocino County Resource Conservation District is teaming up with the Mendocino County Water Agency, the Mendocino Solid Waste Management Authority, Friends of Gibson Creek and Russian Riverkeeper to prevent plastic and other trash from polluting our waterways and accumulating in the ocean. Meet 9 am – 1 pm at Oak Manor Park in Ukiah or at McCarty’s Bar and Grill, 6951 East Road in Redwood Valley to join teams and pick up litter. Last year, 140 volunteers collected nearly 2 tons of trash and 1 ton of recycling! Come prepared to wade through water, along uneven rocks or through thick shrubs. No flip flops! It’s easy, it’s fun and it makes a difference! For more information, contact Deborah Edelman 462-3664 x 106, or visit Participants under 18 will need a signed permission form, available here: 2017 WAIVER AND RELEASE.
